Meet Kim

To me, Yoga is the practice of unbecoming. It’s the slow shedding of layers that don’t fit, the stories that aren’t true. It’s a balance of effort and ease - not just on the mat, but throughout life. It’s connection to the self and everything, and it's comfort with discomfort. It isn’t something we do, it’s something we live.

When I finally came to yoga in a way that actually stuck, I had persistent anxiety, a tendency towards depression, mild OCD symptoms, and chronic illnesses. As my relationship with yoga deepened I found I was able to connect with my body in ways I didn't know were possible. I discovered techniques that relaxed my anxiety, my depression and OCD eased, and I found I could access emotions that I had purposely cut myself off from. I came to separate myself from the discomfort of my chronic pain, and become a better advocate in my healthcare journey.

In 2019 I became a certified teacher, and began to teach right away. Since then, I’ve taught over a thousand hours of classes, and am a lead trainer at a 200 hour Hatha yoga teacher training program at Pranashanti Yoga Centre. Since then I’ve attended many continuing education courses to deepen my understanding, and sharpen my skills so that I can better serve the community.

Although I find anatomy to be fascinating, I resist the temptation to go down the anatomy rabbit hole in classes. I do however share basic knowledge of how the body systems work together so practitioners can deepen the connection to their own body, and how it moves.

Sessions are always trauma informed, and usually a little playful, which makes my classes accessible to the novice and experienced yogi alike.

What Happens Here?

Imagine yoga not as something you do, but something you are. The way you listen, and the way you speak. The way you care for loved ones and strangers. The sincerity in your actions.

Imagine accepting the perfect imperfections of the moment, the room, the body, so you can be fully present, and content.

Wherever you are and whatever you have, Yoga meets you there, in the now. Whether you've been experiencing anxiety, fear, grief, or mobility changes, yoga is there. Now more than ever, we can experience the breathing exercises, meditations, philosophy, physical postures, and meaningful connections anywhere in the world.

This is one of the ways I've always imagined yoga. People coming together through space and time to participate in something transformative. I love being able to share these offerings online, and connecting with people from all over the world.

Weekly livestream classes are recorded and uploaded to the library, so if you can't make it to class, you can explore it later.

The on-demand library is continuously growing, with weekly video and livestream uploads. Breathing exercises, meditations, active movement, or restorative. Giving you lots of options to find a practice that you need on any given day.

One on one sessions are 60 minutes long, and offered online. You will have the option to have your session recorded and delivered to you after to help with your at-home practice.

On rare occasions, a session may be delivered in-person.
